The Media & Digital Strategies team at Bloomberg Associates provides pro bono consulting services to global cities, helping governments modernize their digital tools, communication strategies, and service delivery. This fellowship is a part-time, 6-month contract role designed to support digital transformation projects across North America, South America, and Europe. Fellows work an average of 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Conduct independent, in-depth research and analysis on topics including government digital transformation, online safety, and global digital strategy.
- Develop memos, research briefs, case studies, and presentations to communicate findings.
- Identify, outreach to, and interview government officials, digital leaders, and subject matter experts.
- Engage with internal teams and client stakeholders to present insights and coordinate project efforts.
- Provide general project support across multiple city engagements.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, journalism, marketing, international affairs, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in government, nonprofit, media, digital strategy, or technology.
- Strong interest in digital transformation in the public sector and how digital tools improve government outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear narratives.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Ability to present insights in clear, visually engaging formats.
Location & details#
- This position is remote, though candidates should be located in the New York metro area to attend periodic meetings at the office.
- This is a paid, part-time fellowship with an hourly rate of $26—$35 USD.
