About the role#
Blinn College is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Student Leadership and Activities department at the Brenham campus. This role focuses on daily operations in the Game Room and front office, helping with campus events, and acting as a representative for the department.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily operations for the Game Room and SLA front office.
- Assist staff with event planning, including setup, program implementation, and breakdown.
- Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and the community.
- Serve as a communication link between students and department staff.
- Handle questions or problems by answering directly or referring them to the right person.
- Report any damage or theft to staff immediately.
- Maintain a professional environment and support fellow team members.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Federal work study eligibility.
- Enrollment as at least a half-time student.
- A positive attitude and flexibility regarding hours of operation.
- Prior experience in customer service.
- No current or pending disciplinary sanctions.
- Willingness to learn and work effectively within a team.
- Strong typing and writing skills are preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting up to 44 lbs, standing, walking, and bending.
Location & details#
- Location: Brenham, Texas.
- Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week, including day or night shifts between Monday and Friday.
- Employment term: Rolling, semester by semester.
- Work modality: On-site.
