The Corporate Legal Intern supports the day-to-day activities of the in-house Legal Department at Blackhawk Mining. This role provides law school students with practical, hands-on experience in a corporate legal environment, assisting attorneys with a wide range of corporate and operational legal matters. You will contribute to legal research, document review, and compliance initiatives while gaining exposure to how legal services support business operations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on corporate governance, employment law, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the drafting, review, and organization of contracts, agreements, policies, and internal legal documents.
- Support corporate compliance initiatives, including policy reviews, updates, and internal audits.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources team on employment-related legal matters, including the review of handbooks and policies.
- Participate in meetings with Legal, HR, and other business partners to gain exposure to corporate operations.
- Provide administrative and organizational support for departmental projects and records management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited law school with good academic standing.
- Completion of at least one year of law school is preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
