Black Cape is seeking participants for a US Military Skillbridge internship focused on software engineering. This program is designed to bridge the gap between military training and civilian technical work by supporting the lifecycle of technology projects from inception to deployment. You will work on a multi-disciplinary team to build mission-critical solutions for government and commercial sectors.
What you'll do#
- Develop mission applications and apply machine learning and artificial intelligence to complex problems.
- Create cloud-native web applications and advanced data analysis tools.
- Interact directly with end users to produce and deploy unique capabilities.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of technology projects, including development, leadership, and customer-interfacing tasks.
What you'll need#
- A completed Bachelor of Science degree, or be close to completion of a BS degree or a coding bootcamp. A completed Associate's degree may also be considered.
- Preferred technical degrees include Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Information Systems.
- Three to six months or more of technical experience, such as military experience in data science, software development, DevOps, or cloud computing.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language, such as Java, Python, C#, or C++.
- Experience with at least one MVC framework, such as Spring, Django, Flask, or Rails.
- Experience with at least one relational database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or sqlite3), working knowledge of Linux distributions, and web application basics including HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Willingness to obtain a TS/SCI CI Polygraph; Secret clearances and above will be considered.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Arlington, Virginia.
- The role is on-site, with expectations to be in the office 3-4 days per week, subject to team requirements.
- This is a paid, full-time internship program.
