About the role#
Binnie is looking for a Civil Engineering Assistant to join our Infrastructure team in Burnaby. You will work with project managers, designers, and engineers on drafting, design, and field assignments. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term, with a potential extension through Summer 2027. You will gain experience with road and utility improvements, stormwater management, and development projects.
What you'll do#
- Modify basic design drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Plot, assemble, and deliver drawing submission packages.
- Prepare project documentation, including hard copy and electronic file transfers.
- Maintain file naming and layer management conventions.
- Complete field assignments and quality control procedures.
- Prepare and update as-constructed field record drawings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program.
- Previous work experience in a civil engineering environment.
- Exposure to AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for site visits.
- Willingness to work outdoors on-site when required.
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.

- Compensation: $25 - $27 per hour.
