About the role#
Big-D Construction is hiring a Project Engineer Intern for our St Paul office. This is a full-time, paid internship open to students graduating between 2027 and 2029. You will work on-site, gaining experience in both office and field environments while learning about construction reports, quality control, and project costs.
What you'll do#
- Write and track RFIs and review submittals.
- Assist with change orders and maintain construction drawings.
- Support subcontract and schedule administration.
- Help the Superintendent manage punch lists.
- Use Procore to create RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and other project records.
- Participate in Bluebeam studio sessions.
- Modify project schedules in P6.
- Complete a TH!NK form regarding field activities and take part in a personal safety interaction.
- Attend New Hire Orientation and learn the Big-D safety program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Construction Management or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and a genuine desire to learn.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications.
- Formal engineering or architectural training, or equivalent construction experience, is desirable.
- A basic understanding of scheduling software is preferred.
