About the role#
Better Morning, Inc is hiring Compliance and QI Interns to support our behavioral health practice in Washington, DC. This is a part-time, on-site role requiring at least 20 hours per week. Interns will assist with monitoring clinical documentation, audit preparation, and quality improvement processes while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.
What you'll do#
- Review clinical and administrative records for completeness, including treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments.
- Maintain compliance tracking spreadsheets, audit logs, and compliance calendars.
- Assist with regulatory audit preparation and organize documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Monitor staff completion of compliance activities and identify documentation discrepancies.
- Enter and organize quality improvement data from monthly and quarterly audits.
- Prepare charts, spreadsheets, and reports for QI committee meetings.
- Support the collection and analysis of consumer satisfaction surveys.
- Track grievances, incidents, and service concerns.
- Assist with process-improvement projects and monitor performance-improvement plans.
- Perform data entry and maintain confidential electronic files.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, or Health Information Management.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.
- Proficiency in organizing data and maintaining confidentiality.

- Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience.
