About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in the food and beverage manufacturing sector. You will train with the Fortifi business process and apply your skills to various engineering projects. You will work directly with the New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams to assist with design launches and ensure a smooth transfer of new products to production.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering projects using mechanical principles and problem-solving techniques.
- Create and modify production and manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct physical product testing in lab environments alongside senior engineers.
- Develop, apply, and maintain manufacturing standards for industrial processes and materials.
- Use inspection and testing methods to evaluate products.
- Produce quality CAD data for the manufacturing team.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Assist leadership with the quality management system and ongoing improvement activities.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including manuals and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or General Engineering.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including basic modeling, assembly, and drafting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage time well and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and keep accurate records.
- Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
