About the role#
Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Master's Level intern to provide trauma-focused therapy to children, youth, and families in Kane and DuPage Counties. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Social Worker to conduct assessments, participate in treatment planning, and deliver evidence-based Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). We provide the required 16-hour TF-CBT training at no cost to you. This position is part-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Deliver evidence-based TF-CBT to clients.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
- Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
- Conduct research to support departmental initiatives.
- Shadow team members to learn daily operations and workflows.
- Complete assigned projects within established timelines.
- Participate in required training and supervision sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions.
- Comply with agency policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Assist with Bethany sponsored events if requested.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's program in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- You must be seeking an internship that is a required component of your academic program.
- A fully executed affiliation agreement between your school and the agency.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- A valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S.
- Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance.
- Ability to pass a criminal history screen, including child protection agency registries.
- Willingness to subscribe to and integrate the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
