Behaviour Interactive is seeking a Narrative Designer intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role is based in our Toronto office and focuses on crafting immersive worlds and stories that enhance gameplay. You will work alongside our design team to shape characters and storytelling moments that captivate players.
What you'll do#
- Assist in integrating and maintaining in-game text and dialogue.
- Work directly within Gridly for narrative implementation.
- Create documentation and supportive narrative materials.
- Collaborate with the narrative design team to brainstorm creative ways to express core game mechanics through story, context, and worldbuilding.
- Shape memorable characters and build strong storytelling moments.
What you'll need#
- A background in narrative design or creative writing, with a preference for experience in the horror genre.
- A strong understanding of plot, structure, and character development.
- Knowledge of how narrative supports game mechanics and player retention.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Miro, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience writing in-game dialogue and text to create immersive, coherent, and character-appropriate content.
- Current enrollment in a relevant field such as English, Communications, or Graphic Design.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Fall 2026 (4 months, starting September 2026).
- Commitment: Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- Modality: On-site (requires presence in the Toronto office three days per week).
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work full-time in Canada at the time of application.
