About the role#
Bayer is hiring an Engineering Co-Op to work at our chemical manufacturing site in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time, paid position available for Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027 terms. You will work on-site alongside our engineering and maintenance teams to support plant operations and process improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Partner with staff to improve chemical processes, increase yields, and reduce waste.
- Help define project objectives by analyzing stakeholder requirements and design packages.
- Ensure all work follows engineering standards, safety regulations, and plant protocols.
- Collaborate with facilities and reliability engineers to learn about maintenance and procurement programs.
- Perform engineering calculations and conduct cost, feasibility, and planning studies.
- Work with production staff to troubleshoot issues and solve problems on the floor.
- Support site-wide Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to commute daily to our Kansas City facility.
- Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Comfort working in a chemical plant environment.
