About the role#
As a Project Management Intern, you will work with the Barnhart team to plan and execute heavy-lift, heavy-transport, and specialized rigging projects. This paid position offers hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and operational coordination. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and field teams to support the delivery of industrial projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning and coordinating heavy-lift and heavy-transport solutions.
- Support Project Managers with schedule development, job cost tracking, and reporting.
- Prepare customer submittals and project documentation.
- Develop initiatives to improve project management processes and proposal creation.
- Participate in project meetings, site walkdowns, and customer interactions.
- Provide local field support and gain knowledge of equipment, project budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Communicate regularly with your supervisor and team members.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma and current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Creative problem-solving skills and leadership potential.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including occasional weekends.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
- The role is on-site at various Barnhart branch locations, equipment yards, and customer project sites.
- Travel to local project sites is required as needed.
