About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern at Baker Group, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our business units on active construction projects. This paid, full-time internship is available on a rolling basis and requires on-site work. You will learn about our systems and services through training while contributing directly to project success.
What you'll do#
- Partner with project managers to implement projects, including inventory tracking, scheduling, and managing internal punch lists.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to keep project schedules on track.
- Support field staff by providing accurate and timely project information.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, identify trends, and suggest process improvements.
- Assist in business development and building professional relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
- General knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical system components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.

This position is based on-site. We have openings in Ankeny, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Lebanon, IN; Jeffersonville, IN; Louisville, KY; and Kansas City, MO.
