About the role#
Badger Meter is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our People Operations team in Milwaukee. This internship offers hands-on experience across various HR functions, allowing you to support day-to-day operations while contributing to projects that improve the employee experience. You will work alongside our HR team and cross-functional stakeholders to apply your academic knowledge to real-world workforce challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support daily HR activities and People Operations projects.
- Coordinate recruiting tasks, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.
- Assist with onboarding activities and suggest improvements to the new-hire experience.
- Help with employee engagement initiatives.
- Collect, organize, and report on HR data and workforce metrics.
- Build reports and dashboards to support workforce decisions.
- Research and update HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
- Support compliance activities and maintain accurate HR records.
- Document current processes and recommend ways to improve efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects and track deliverables.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders and the HR team.
- Research HR trends and emerging technologies.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in a career in HR, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to analyze information, spot trends, and make recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
