About the role#
B&D Industries, Inc. offers a paid internship for students to gain hands-on experience in IT operations. You will work alongside experienced developers and IT staff to support enterprise systems, integrations, and workflow automations. This role is offered in partnership with CNM and provides exposure to professional development practices within the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with developing and maintaining integrations between enterprise systems like ERP, CRM, and Microsoft 365.
- Support workflow automations using Microsoft tools and Power Platform.
- Help with API-based integration tasks using REST and JSON concepts.
- Test integrations and system changes, document results, and report defects.
- Monitor existing integrations for performance and data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot assigned integration or automation issues.
- Create and maintain entry-level technical documentation such as workflow diagrams and troubleshooting notes.
- Support data-quality activities by identifying synchronization issues or inconsistent formats.
- Participate in version-control processes using Git-based platforms.
- Follow established practices for code management, testing, peer review, and deployment.
- Maintain work traceability through Helpdesk tickets and change records.
- Collaborate with developers, IT staff, and business stakeholders.
- Follow secure development and data-handling practices.
- Participate in IT department training sessions.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment at CNM in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Development, Information Technology, or a related program is preferred.
- Basic understanding of programming, databases, APIs, or workflow automation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, or GitHub is helpful.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a dependable, curious nature.
- Ability to follow structured development, security, and governance processes.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
Location & details#
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, with flexibility for class schedules.
- Duration: 10 to 20 weeks.
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
