About the role#
Avion Solutions, Inc. is hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer Intern to support the Propulsion Drives Branch of the Maneuver Air Directorate. You will work on engine control law implementation, electromagnetic interference evaluations, and hardware-in-the-loop test bench operations. This role provides technical support across various engineering projects and systems.
What you'll do#
- Provide entry-level analytical and technical support for engineering systems and sub-systems.
- Review test plans, technical data, and test reports for compliance.
- Participate in engineering test witnessing, data collection, hardware inspections, and post-test evaluations.
- Examine design documentation, technical drawings, and engineering change proposals.
- Help with failure investigations, root cause analysis, and defect reporting.
- Support the review of technical manuals and maintenance procedures.
- Participate in team meetings, technical syncs, and project reviews.
- Document engineering processes, methodologies, and technical analyses.
- Conduct information searches, trade studies, and technical data correlation.
What you'll need#
- Junior status or higher pursuing a Bachelor degree in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Basic understanding of engine control laws, control system theory, electrical circuit analysis, and digital or analog signals.
- Familiarity with EMC and EMI fundamentals, including grounding principles and shielding concepts.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, bills of materials, and pinout configurations.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Skill in gathering test data, performing calculations, and writing clear reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
