About the role#
This internship provides exposure to freight brokerage, carrier partnerships, and transportation operations. You will support daily carrier sales operations and apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. This program is designed as a pipeline into full-time roles for high-performing students.
What you'll do#
- Support assigned shipments from carrier assignment through delivery by coordinating with carriers, monitoring activity, and resolving issues.
- Assist with sourcing carrier capacity while learning about transportation pricing, market conditions, and carrier selection.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new carriers while building professional relationships and maintaining documentation.
- Develop a foundational understanding of freight brokerage, transportation terminology, and how transportation supports the supply chain.
- Strengthen your communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through hands-on work, coaching, and training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program as a junior or senior, or recent graduation.
- A major in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, curiosity, and the ability to work under pressure.
- An interest in logistics, transportation, or B2B sales.
- A reliable and accountable approach to learning.

- Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $17 per hour plus a performance bonus of up to $1,000.
