About the role#
This is a one-year, full-time veterinary internship. You will work under the mentorship of multiple Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience with challenging medical cases. The role focuses on providing effective medical care to rescue animals while learning life-saving techniques that prioritize quality of life and efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Perform a variety of surgeries, including spay/neuter, soft tissue, emergency, and orthopedic procedures.
- Collaborate with technicians and support staff to deliver medical care.
- Research specific cases and present them during weekly round sessions.
- Work five days per week, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours depending on patient volume.
- Participate in an on-call rotation every other week.
What you'll need#
- A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Texas.
- Comfort with triage, established systems and protocols, and high-volume medical caseloads.
- Ability to make clinical decisions based on physical exams and history in a shelter setting.

- A degree in Biology.
