About the role#
ATS Traffic is looking for an HR Co-op Student to join our team for an 8-month term. You will work closely with our HR department to gain practical experience in the construction and manufacturing industry. This role focuses on supporting our seasonal hiring needs to ensure we have the workforce required to deliver our products and services.
What you'll do#
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for entry-level and seasonal positions.
- Create and post job advertisements on UKG and external job boards.
- Review applications, screen candidates, and conduct phone interviews.
- Schedule and lead interviews, both virtually and in person, then debrief with hiring managers.
- Perform reference checks for permanent entry-level roles.
- Prepare offer letters and all necessary employment documentation.
- Oversee pre-employment requirements, including scheduling drug and alcohol testing and tracking results with Cannamm.
- Prepare recruitment reports for leadership.
- Organize New Employee Orientation sessions in coordination with departments like Health and Safety, Technology, and Product Specialists.
- Assist HR Business Partners with daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program specializing in Human Resources, Industrial/Employee Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Preference for 3rd or 4th-year students who have completed coursework in HR, recruitment, employee relations, or health and safety.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- A willingness to learn new software, particularly our HRIS program, UKG.
- A creative perspective and a positive attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January to August 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Compensation: $23 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
