About the role#
The Accounting & Finance Intern supports the Accounting Department with reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end close activities. This role reports to the Senior Accountant or Manager of Facility Accounting. You will gain exposure to the financial operations of multiple ambulatory surgery center facilities through structured training and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Prepare journal entries under staff guidance.
- Perform reconciliations for accounts like cash, prepaid assets, and fixed assets.
- Support monthly expense reviews and provide basic variance explanations.
- Contribute to P&L and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reporting packages.
- Document policies, procedures, and process improvement projects.
- Support other departments with finance-related requests.
- Engage in professional development activities and complete ad hoc projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with vlookups, xlookups, sumifs, and pivot tables.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- An interest in healthcare finance and a curiosity to understand business drivers.

- Compensation: 20 USD per hour.
- Status: Full-time internship with rolling terms.
