About the role#
The AI Infrastructure DC Design Intern supports our engineering team with data hall design, documentation, and infrastructure planning. This role provides hands-on experience in AI and hyperscale data center environments. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop foundational knowledge in rack layouts, cabling standards, and engineering project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Create and update AutoCAD drawings, rack elevations, cabinet layouts, and structured cabling documentation.
- Support data hall design documentation, asset tracking, and revision management.
- Assist engineering teams with infrastructure inventory validation and capacity tracking.
- Maintain design standards, templates, and project documentation repositories.
- Participate in engineering reviews, design walkthroughs, and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather project inputs and update design records.
- Prepare project reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Learn data center infrastructure concepts including power, cooling, and AI cluster environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative team environment.
- Basic understanding of datacenter or IT infrastructure concepts is preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar drafting tools is a plus.
- Interest in AI infrastructure, networking, or cloud technologies.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position based in California.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
- Compensation is $15.71 to $24.81 per hour.
