About the role#
ASML develops advanced lithography systems that combine precision mechanics, electronics, software, and sensors. Our Wilton team focuses on complex mechatronic systems where motion, controls, and dynamics meet. As a Mechatronics Engineer Intern, you will work with experienced engineers on a technical challenge tailored to your background and learning goals. This role offers a mix of modeling, analysis, and hands-on work with high-performance systems.
What you'll do#
- Model and analyze the behavior of dynamic or mechatronic systems.
- Use MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar tools for data analysis and simulation.
- Analyze test data to understand system performance and find root causes for technical issues.
- Support structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Plan and run experiments or validation activities in the lab or on equipment.
- Compare measured behavior against models and develop practical recommendations.
- Collaborate with teams across mechatronics, controls, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Document your work and present findings to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- A strong interest in dynamics, precision systems, and feedback control.
- Experience from coursework, projects, or research in modeling, simulation, or data analysis.
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and experience with Python or similar engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on mindset and willingness to work with hardware and test setups.
- Good communication skills to explain technical results clearly.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to drive tasks independently.
