    About the role#

The DUV Reticle Stage IBS MDU team manages the precision mechatronic subsystems used in ASML lithography systems. We are looking for a co-op student to help improve the MATLAB-based analysis tools we use to evaluate system dynamics. You will work at the intersection of mechatronics, signal processing, and software development to ensure our engineering tools remain accurate and usable.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop and improve MATLAB functions and workflows for DUV Reticle Stage dynamic performance.
    • Focus on power spectral density (PSD) analysis and frequency-domain visualizations.
    • Review existing code, documentation, and datasets to understand current methodologies.
    • Interview subject-matter experts to gather requirements and uncover undocumented engineering knowledge.
    • Validate new or modified analysis methods against known datasets and existing results.
    • Investigate discrepancies in data processing or algorithms.
    • Improve tool usability and update documentation for future users.
    • Participate in code reviews and incorporate team feedback.

    What you'll need#

    • Current college junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, or Robotics engineering.
    • Availability for a 6-month co-op assignment.
    • Programming experience in MATLAB through coursework, projects, or research.
    • Understanding of fundamental mechanical dynamics and vibrations.
    • Familiarity with signal processing and frequency-domain analysis, such as Fourier transforms or PSD.
    • Ability to work with experimental datasets and create clear engineering visualizations.
    • Structured approach to testing and validating computational results.
    • Strong curiosity and the ability to turn loosely documented requirements into structured solutions.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • Legal authorization to access controlled technology as defined in Export Administration Regulations.
    • Familiarity with Git or SVN is helpful but not required.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based on-site in Wilton, Connecticut.
    • This is a full-time, paid position.
    • The hourly pay range is $18.00 to $48.00 per hour.
