About the role#
We are looking for a Communications & Marketing Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, 10-week program running from June 7th to August 12th. You will work directly with our VP of Marketing & Communications to support our communities through various stages of operation. This role requires you to be on-site at our Chicago office 4 to 5 days a week, with up to 10% travel expected. You will participate in lunch-and-learn sessions, receive systems training, and deliver a final project presentation at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Manage social media content, including planning, posting, community engagement, and tracking performance.
- Assist with outreach marketing to build awareness among students, universities, and local partners.
- Plan, launch, and monitor digital advertising campaigns while reporting on results and optimization.
- Support website and SEO tasks, such as content updates, keyword research, and site performance analysis.
- Write external communications including newsletters, press materials, and resident-facing messaging.
- Collaborate across departments to meet marketing goals while maintaining brand standards.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Rising juniors and seniors are preferred.
- Experience with social media or outreach marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with different teams and summarize information effectively.
