About the role#
The Quantitative Developer Intern role is a full-time summer position within the Research team. This program bridges theory and practice, allowing you to work alongside quantitative researchers and developers to refine investment strategies. You will contribute to high-impact projects using cloud computing, distributed systems, and numerical computation to solve complex financial problems.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex quantitative problems using Python or R.
- Design and develop tools and libraries to enhance the data science technology stack.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on large, complex data sets to inform investment and signal ideas.
- Implement performance improvements in numerical programming and data analysis libraries.
- Execute proof-of-concept projects to evaluate new technologies within cloud and PyData ecosystems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Economics.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, programming, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of software design paradigms, data structures, and numerical algorithms.
- Understanding of probability and statistics, including linear regression and time-series analysis.
- Interest in financial markets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Compensation: $3,500 to $5,000 per week, depending on experience and qualifications.
