About the role#
As a Quantitative Developer Intern, you will join the Research team to support the development of investment strategies. You will work alongside quantitative researchers and developers to bridge the gap between theory and practice, focusing on the tools, APIs, and libraries that enable the generation and evaluation of investment ideas. This role involves high-impact projects utilizing cloud computing, high-performance compute, and data visualization to solve complex problems in finance.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex quantitative problems using Python or R.
- Design and develop tools and libraries to enhance the firm's data science technology stack.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on large, complex datasets to inform investment and signal ideas.
- Implement performance improvements in data analysis and numerical programming libraries.
- Run proofs-of-concept to evaluate new technologies and libraries within cloud and PyData ecosystems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Economics.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, programming, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of software design paradigms, data structures, and numerical algorithms.
- Understanding of probability and statistics, including linear regression and time-series analysis.
- An interest in financial markets.
