Test Engineer Co-op

About the role#

Arlo Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer Co-op to join our Software Test team in Richmond, BC. This 12-month position offers exposure to the commercial product development life cycle, including work on IP cameras and home automation products. You will contribute to the validation and quality assurance of new technologies and features for complex products involving embedded firmware and cloud storage.

What you'll do#

• Execute manual and automated tests based on customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain automated test tools.
• Analyze software defects, verify bug fixes, and write clear bug reports.
• Create comprehensive test plans and reports.
• Assist development teams in troubleshooting customer or field issues.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a co-op program at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, or the University of Victoria.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
• Experience with software test development, programming, or scripting.
• Knowledge of data communication, networking, and protocols.
• Ability to execute moderate to complex test cases.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, technical curiosity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

• Compensation: Paid position (CAD$3,700 - $4,000/month).
