About the role#
The Department of Technology Services is seeking an Enterprise Applications Support Intern to join the ACE team. This one-year, full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience supporting the Assessment and Collection Enterprise (ACE) System, the Citizens Assessment and Payment Portal (CAPP), and the Enterprise Payment Solution (EPS). You will work under the mentorship of senior staff to support critical County tax assessment, billing, and payment systems.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for ACE, CAPP, and EPS production environments.
- Contribute to the development and testing of software modifications.
- Research, analyze, and troubleshoot software and DTS services.
- Assist in creating and updating Service Desk Incident Submission and Request forms, as well as Knowledge Base articles for EPS.
- Support the rollout of new EPS Payment Types.
What you'll need#
- Recent 2025 or 2026 college graduate, or currently enrolled in a related Master’s degree program.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer/Management Information Systems, or Mathematics.
- Less than one year of professional-level work experience in the internship field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or above, experience in C# or similar development environments, exposure to SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL), and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Virginia.
- Start Date: Must be able to start no later than September 7, 2026.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work Modality: On-site with some flexibility for telework upon supervisor approval. This is not a fully remote role.
- Requirements: A pre-employment background check (criminal, driving, education, professional licensure, and credit history) is required. Candidates must possess or obtain a valid driver’s license or have the ability to use alternative transportation to perform duties at various locations.
