About the role#
This student worker position supports food service and catering operations at the ASU campus. This is a full-time, paid role for the Summer 2026 term. Students from all majors are welcome to apply, with particular interest in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, and Nutrition.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food items properly according to established standards.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables and service counters, and clean or sanitize them after use.
- Serve food to customers while anticipating their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Replenish food items to keep stock at appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent customer service to guests and co-workers.
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and ensure the security of company assets.
- Note that this role involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Employees may be required to wear uniforms or personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
