About the role#
This Student Worker position provides an opportunity to gain experience in food service and catering operations on the Texas State University campus. This is a paid, full-time role for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables, service counters, and hot wells.
- Serve food to customers while anticipating guest needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Store food properly according to established standards.
- Maintain a positive demeanor toward guests, clients, and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety, sanitation, and security policies regarding company assets.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- This role is open to students across various majors, including Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Public Health, Psychology, Communications, and Marketing.
