About the role#
This student worker position at the College of Charleston offers an opportunity to gain experience in food services and catering. The role focuses on food preparation, safety compliance, and customer service within a campus dining environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food items properly in accordance with safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or possess a food safety certification.
- Demonstrated guest service skills and a positive demeanor.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or use personal protective equipment as required.
