About the role#
The Student Worker - Barista provides service and prepares beverages while maintaining a clean environment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently.
What you'll do#
- Operate a register and POS system to process cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Count, organize, and balance cash drawers, complete cashier slips, and make deposits.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including the setup and breakdown of coffee stations.
- Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware, and condiments.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Adhere to company cash handling policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and communicate in English and follow recipes.
- Completion of Food Handling Certification as required.
- Previous customer service and cash handling experience are preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
