Chemist Intern (Bachelors/Masters)

About the role#

Applied Materials is seeking a Chemist Intern to join the PPB team at the CTO office for the summer of 2026. This full-time, on-site internship offers the opportunity to contribute to materials engineering solutions within the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the screening, characterization, and metrology of inorganic, organic, and polymer materials and chemicals.
• Lead small development projects focused on material characterization, screening, and quality control.
• Conduct material and chemical testing and analysis while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
• Support process engineers with material and chemical requirements.
• Safely handle a variety of chemicals in a laboratory environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
• Previous experience in materials characterization or analytical chemistry is preferred.
