About the role#
We are looking for a community engagement intern to support our outreach efforts in Fort Smith. This part-time role helps strengthen our local presence by managing partnerships, sponsorships, and volunteer initiatives. You will work alongside the Community Engagement Manager and the Regional Social Media Specialist to represent the company at various functions.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain relationships with nonprofits, schools, local businesses, and community groups.
- Represent the company at networking events, ribbon cuttings, trade shows, and community functions.
- Assist in developing local partnerships and identifying new opportunities for community involvement.
- Coordinate volunteer projects, scholarships, donations, and other outreach initiatives.
- Work with the social media team to capture event highlights and gather success stories.
- Maintain accurate records of sponsorships, partnerships, and engagement metrics.
- Handle event logistics, scheduling, and administrative tasks to support outreach efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Comfort representing the company in public settings.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, averaging 15 to 25 hours per week. This role requires some evening and weekend availability for events.
- Pay: $15.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
