About the role#
This position offers hands-on clinical training for students currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program. You will work under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures while adhering to facility policies and regulatory standards. The role focuses on patient safety, technical competency, and accurate documentation.
What you'll do#
- Perform imaging procedures under supervision to ensure patient safety and care quality.
- Review patient history and physician orders, prepare equipment, and select imaging parameters.
- Assist with patient positioning, shielding, and education before and during procedures.
- Follow radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
- Analyze image quality and route files for radiologist interpretation.
- Operate imaging and PACS equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in equipment maintenance and restocking.
- Administer contrast media when ordered and within your scope of practice.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within the timeframe required by facility policy.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to perform physical job functions, such as lifting and moving patients, standing, and walking.
- A professional demeanor and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
