Radiology Student

About the role#

As a Radiology Student at Andalusia Health, you will receive hands-on clinical training while performing a variety of imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist. This role focuses on developing technical competency, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

What you'll do#

• Perform imaging procedures under supervision to ensure quality care and patient safety.
• Review patient history and physician orders to prepare equipment and select appropriate imaging parameters.
• Assist with patient positioning, shielding, and education throughout the procedure.
• Monitor patient conditions, analyze image quality, and route images for radiologist interpretation.
• Follow established radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
• Operate imaging and PACS equipment, reporting any malfunctions as needed.
• Administer contrast media within the scope of practice and maintain accurate facility documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and supply restocking.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (must be obtained within the timeframe required by facility policy).
• Ability to perform physical job functions, including lifting and moving patients, standing, and walking.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer and medical software applications.
