About the role#
As a Radiology Student at Andalusia Health, you will receive hands-on clinical training while performing a variety of imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist. This role focuses on developing technical competency, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
What you'll do#
- Perform imaging procedures under supervision to ensure quality care and patient safety.
- Review patient history and physician orders to prepare equipment and select appropriate imaging parameters.
- Assist with patient positioning, shielding, and education throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patient conditions, analyze image quality, and route images for radiologist interpretation.
- Follow established radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
- Operate imaging and PACS equipment, reporting any malfunctions as needed.
- Administer contrast media within the scope of practice and maintain accurate facility documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and supply restocking.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (must be obtained within the timeframe required by facility policy).
- Ability to perform physical job functions, including lifting and moving patients, standing, and walking.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer and medical software applications.
