Job Description: If you attended the 2026 RUTGERS Fall Career & Internship fair and you are interested in a career in food science… keep reading Ancient Crunch Inc. is a food manufacturing company based in Hackettstown, NJ. We make healthy snacks that we're proud of and run an operation that's always moving… and growing exponentially. We are a tight-knit team with many, many moving parts. This company was built from the ground up… our CEO started this company out of his garage. Four years later, we are now operating out of our own manufacturing facility. That said, we’re looking for students and graduates who want to grow with us. We are looking to fill roles in Supply Chain, Chemical, Electrical, & Mechanical Engineering, Technology, Food Science, Agriculture, Business, and more. Working with us is a great opportunity for recent graduates or students who want real hands-on experience working in space that is quite literally revolutionizing the real food industry. You'll learn how a food manufacturing business runs from the inside out, work closely with the many moving parts of the team, and have the potential to grow alongside the company using your skills. If you're adaptable, detail-oriented, take ownership of your work, think outside of the box, and, most importantly, are ready to roll up your sleeves, you'll fit right in. Plus, working with us comes with many benefits:
Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance Genuine room for growth A health and wellness-focused culture All the chips you can eat!
How does your degree apply to Ancient Crunch? Food Science: MASA Chips is built around a simple idea: good food starts with good ingredients. Our chips are made using traditional nixtamalization, simple ingredients, and 100% grass-fed beef tallow. That means consistency can't come from relying on preservatives, fillers, or artificial shortcuts. It has to come from understanding the complexities of working with real food. Working in food science, you'll work hands-on across R&D, formulation, sensory evaluation, shelf-life testing, moisture and texture, ingredient functionality, and process consistency. You'll help understand how changes in ingredients or processing affect the final product, then work with our production team to translate those learnings from the lab into full-scale manufacturing. You'll have the opportunity to work through the real challenges of scaling a food product, from developing and testing new ideas to troubleshooting why a batch isn't performing as expected and finding ways to make every batch more consistent. If you want to work on a real product, get close to the process, and see your food science directly influence what ends up on shelves, this is the place to do it.
