About the role#
The Data Science Co-Op role is based within the Advanced Solutions & Science Team. You will join a group focused on developing algorithms and technologies that power our analytical engines. This program runs for 6 to 8 months, starting in January 2027. You will work on research, architecture, implementation, and testing of new features for our software platform.
What you'll do#
- Apply science methodology and techniques to solve real-world problems and generate business impact.
- Research data science methodologies to expand our analytical solution capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business teams on client engagement and implementation.
- Identify and address user pain points to improve the platform.
- Conduct data analysis using various tools and techniques.
- Assist in documenting model specifications and implementation details.
- Support team members in developing statistical, machine learning, and AI models and algorithms.
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
What you'll need#
- Solid technical skills in probability, statistics, machine learning, and optimization algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience setting up and maintaining Python environments, including virtual environments, dependency management, and package installations.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Preferred: Ability to implement machine learning algorithms (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, k-means clustering, Bayesian Regression) from scratch.
- Preferred: Skills in Linux and R.
- Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students graduating between 2027 and 2028.
