    About the role#

    As an Embedded Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience developing software and firmware for systems that power real-world applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, implement, test, and debug code while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable embedded solutions.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop, test, and debug embedded software and firmware for hardware-based systems.
    • Support the integration of software and hardware components to ensure system performance.
    • Build automation tools, test frameworks, and software utilities.
    • Participate in system validation, data collection, and performance analysis.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
    • Document software designs, test results, and technical findings.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Basic knowledge of embedded systems, software development, and computer engineering principles.
    • Familiarity with C, C++, or Python.
    • Understanding of software debugging, testing, and problem-solving techniques.
    • Experience with version control tools such as Git.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with embedded operating systems, RTOS, or embedded Linux is helpful.
    • Exposure to software build systems, scripting, or automation tools.
    • Knowledge of digital signal processing, communication protocols, or embedded hardware concepts.

    • Locations: Wilmington, Massachusetts; San Jose, California; Durham, North Carolina.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Employment type: Full-time internship.
    • Compensation: Paid position with an expected wage range of $22 to $41 per hour.
