About the role#
This is a 12-week full-time internship focused on the fundamentals of warehouse and distribution management. You will work within automated warehouse environments, learn core operational processes, and contribute to process engineering projects. The role involves working with shift leadership to monitor activities, ensure service objectives are met, and maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
What you'll do#
- Learn dock and front office processes, labor and transportation planning, appointment scheduling, and inventory control.
- Support process engineering initiatives, including labor standards and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist shift leadership in coordinating warehouse activities for assigned teams.
- Collaborate with managers to resolve operational issues and participate in safety training.
- Take part in formal orientations and meetings with staff from various functions.
- Travel to other facilities in the surrounding area as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations.
- Leadership experience from academic or professional projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to solve problems and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with advanced Excel functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP is preferred.
- Familiarity with data collection, database query tools, and SQL is a plus.

- This is a paid, full-time position.
- Physical requirements include the ability to visit warehouse areas with temperatures at or below freezing and the ability to lift or move objects up to 20 pounds.
