About the role#
The American Action Forum is hiring an intern for its Technology and Innovation Policy team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work directly with the Director of Technology and Innovation Policy to support research on telecommunications, social media, and AI policy. This is a paid, part-time position based in our Washington, DC office.
What you'll do#
- Provide research assistance and collect data for the issue area director.
- Attend Capitol Hill hearings, private speaker events, and policy discussions at other DC think tanks to analyze and report on the information presented.
- Help promote, run, and evaluate Forum events.
- Build a portfolio of completed work throughout the term.
- Deliver a brief presentation on a policy topic of your choice.
What you'll need#
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- An interest in the politics and policies of center-right conservatives.
- A demonstrated interest in technology issues.
- A self-starting attitude.
- Experience conducting legal research using databases like WestLaw or Lexis.
- Strong quantitative skills are highly desired.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Washington, DC.
- You must be able to work on-site for 20 to 29 hours per week.
- Interns are required to provide their own computer or equipment.
