As an Energy Engineer Intern, you will support the engineering team in the development and execution of energy efficiency projects. This full-time position offers exposure to various energy solutions, including utility analytics, onsite generation, and efficiency consulting. You will work from the Worthington, Ohio office and travel to client sites within a 1-2 hour radius of Columbus as needed.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team with facility audits, energy efficiency calculations, and the implementation of cost-effective projects such as lighting, HVAC, and controls upgrades.
- Analyze historical utility data, including performing regression analysis, benchmarking, and reviewing utility tariffs.
- Support project documentation and reporting for engineering, sales, and operations teams.
- Help clients identify opportunities to recoup investments through utility programs, grants, and other incentives.
- Participate in the design and operation of on-site generation systems like solar, wind, and cogeneration.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Civil, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience in the energy field, specifically with HVAC, controls, lighting, or building envelopes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
