About the role#
The IT Specialist Internship is a six-month position based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role supports the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex and the Space Support Contract II. You will work on-site to assist with technical operations, maintenance, and system support under the guidance of senior IT staff.
What you'll do#
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with workstation deployments, equipment upgrades, and inventory management.
- Help troubleshoot technical problems and support network and infrastructure teams with configuration and testing.
- Manage account creation, password resets, and user access requests.
- Perform software installations, updates, and patch management.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, user guides, asset records, and service logs.
- Participate in routine system monitoring and report findings to senior administrators.
- Learn and follow organizational cybersecurity policies and best practices.
What you'll need#
- Must have or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Completed coursework related to networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, or technical support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Compensation: $45,000 to $55,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and certifications.
