About the role#
This internship provides graduate-level students the opportunity to complete fieldwork hours required for a School Counseling degree. Interns support the execution of a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the ASCA National Model. You will work under the supervision of a credentialed school counselor to provide data-driven, equitable, and developmentally appropriate support to scholars.
What you'll do#
- Help scholars prepare for, gain admission to, and succeed in college.
- Implement activities to address scholar needs and collaborate with school staff to support student success.
- Engage with parents and guardians to foster a supportive environment.
- Assist in the creation of Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems of support for socioemotional development.
- Use district technology to inform and drive the counseling program.
- Participate in orientation activities, IEP meetings, and Student Support and Progress Team meetings.
- Support career awareness and financial readiness programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s level school counseling program.
- Enrollment in a program leading to a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling.
- A strong belief that all scholars deserve a quality education and can earn a four-year college degree.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with both children and adults.
- Ability to analyze student data to drive decision-making and interventions.
