About the role#
Allen Lund Company offers a rolling internship program in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. The role provides hands-on exposure to the transportation brokerage industry, with the potential for a full-time position following the internship for the right candidate.
What you'll do#
- Assist with load tracking, tracing, and ensuring app compliance.
- Build loads, set up carriers, and update active load information for shippers.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments and update customer systems.
- Gain training in booking loads and become comfortable communicating with carriers over the phone.
- Call carriers to inquire about lanes, equipment types, and quantities.
- Manage documentation by ensuring files are sent to Carrier Resources.
- Contact insurance companies for certificates and update insurance information.
- Answer phones, distribute calls, and support the accounting function.
- Handle general office duties and follow company principles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player mindset.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities.
