About the role#
The Associate Commercial Data Science Intern works with multiple teams to bridge the gap between statistical analysis and business strategy. You will report to the leader of Consulting Services and collaborate with the Commercial Analytics Center of Excellence. This is a client-facing position where you will present findings and interpret data in real-world business contexts. You will gain experience in both statistical methods and their practical applications while working alongside peers in both analytics and general consulting practices.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams working within big data environments.
- Apply and interpret advanced statistical and machine learning methods.
- Assist teams with data preparation and model-building tasks.
- Communicate project findings, conclusions, and recommendations to internal peers and clients.
- Participate in client meetings to review analytical approaches and interpret results.
- Use and support automated internal tools for project-related analytics.
- Help consolidate modeling approaches for service offerings and support practice development.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record.
- Coursework in Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Entry-level knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for regression and classification.
- Proficiency in R or Python.
- Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
- Moderate skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, team-working, and communication skills.
- A resourceful approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn from mentors.
- High levels of motivation, flexibility, and creativity.
- Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice.
