About the role#
The Corporate Sustainability team at Akamai works across the company to support environmental and energy management systems. We are looking for a business-minded intern to support our team with data analysis, process tracking, and cross-functional initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders to help drive efficiency, support emissions accounting, and advance strategic sustainability projects.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the Corporate Sustainability team and operational teams to support company-wide programs.
- Assist with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting, data collection, and process tracking.
- Evaluate, document, and refine internal processes related to environmental and energy management systems.
- Analyze activity, energy, and emissions data to track performance and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Share actionable insights across internal groups.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings, sit in on external auditor calls, and assist with vendor or partner communications.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors in business, business analytics, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of corporate sustainability concepts and frameworks.
- Ability to review quantitative data and organize information efficiently.
- Ability to map out operational processes to identify improvement areas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort interacting professionally with internal teams and external partners.
- High capacity for understanding complex, interconnected processes and applying change management principles.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, frameworks, and concepts.
- Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- The program runs for 12 weeks from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
