About the role#
AgZen is a multidisciplinary engineering team building technology to improve agricultural practices. We retrofit sprayers with sensors and software to help farmers reduce pesticide use through data collection and real-time insights. As a Software Engineering Co-op, you will work with our software team on systems ranging from firmware and computer vision to cloud-based data portals. Your work will directly support farmers and internal teams in optimizing chemical usage.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, test, and deploy software changes.
- Work across the full stack, including embedded code on field equipment, cloud services, and user-facing web applications.
- Collaborate on features based on input from teammates, leadership, and customer needs.
- Interact directly with customers to see how your code performs in real farming environments.
- Test your work in our hardware-equipped lab to see immediate results.
- Build user-friendly touch interfaces for modern agricultural technology.
What you'll need#
- Prior software development experience from at least one internship or co-op.
- Interest in working across both frontend and backend technologies.
- Willingness to learn new tools, explore unfamiliar systems, and take ownership of projects.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in sustainability and the impact of technology on agriculture and the environment.
