This Summer 2026 internship within the R&D Software Engineering team in Wilmington, Delaware, focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence into software development and test automation workflows. You will work alongside software, firmware, and hardware teams to design and build practical applications using modern AI technologies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world R&D challenges with the potential to extend into a part-time position during the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Apply AI-assisted development techniques to accelerate software development cycles.
- Design, develop, and enhance internal software tools using C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, and HTML.
- Review, validate, and refine AI-generated code to ensure high standards of quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the adoption of modern AI development practices and tools across the engineering department.
- Document AI initiatives, including requirements, use cases, and project outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous process improvement.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Programming experience in at least one of the following: C++, C#, or Python.
- Experience with JavaScript and HTML.
- Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools, such as GitHub Copilot.
- Awareness of emerging AI trends, tools, and best practices, including experience building agents, experimenting with prompting, or developing AI-based side projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Location: Wilmington, Delaware (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2026 (Full-time).
- Compensation: $36.57–$38.86 per hour, plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits.
