About the role#
AET is hiring interns for the Summer 2027 season. This is a full-time, paid position for students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. You will work on-site at construction projects, gaining experience in material testing and field observations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials like concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
- Assist with testing procedures using equipment such as nuclear density gauges, gradations, proctors, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
- Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and project managers at various work sites.
- Complete additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree program.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- The ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.
