About the role#
AECOM is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This paid, full-time position is based in Akron, Ohio. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside engineers on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with assessments, planning, design, and construction administration for infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site visits to project locations.
- Attend meetings with clients.
- Participate in internal networking events to build professional connections.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 2 years of study is required.
- Recent Bachelor’s graduates who plan to continue with a Master’s degree are eligible.
- US Citizenship is required for this role.
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required for site and client visits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS Pro.
- Familiarity with basic hydraulic modeling software.

- This position is located on-site in Akron, Ohio.
- The internship is expected to begin in May or June 2027.
