Laboratory Technician - Internship/Co-op

About the role#

Advance Testing Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician for an Internship/Co-op role based in Campbell Hall, New York. This position involves working on construction materials testing and inspection projects, including roads, bridges, airports, and commercial buildings. Successful candidates will receive training and certification in sampling and testing soil, concrete, and asphalt materials through recognized programs.

What you'll do#

• Perform standard concrete, masonry, soil, and aggregate testing to ensure materials meet required specifications.
• Mix, sample, and test concrete and mortars to determine engineering properties.
• Conduct soil testing and sampling procedures in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, OCOE, and DOT standardized methods.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar, or current coursework toward a BS in Civil Engineering.
• A valid, clean driver’s license.
• A strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols.
• Previous experience in construction materials testing or the construction industry is preferred, though training is provided.
• Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 75 lbs, walking on uneven surfaces, and working in various weather conditions.

• Location: Campbell Hall, New York.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $18 to $22 per hour.
• Schedule: Full-time with variable hours, including day, night, and weekend shifts.
• Term: Rolling.
